The Little Things: Letters
This year my New Year`s Resolution was to appreciate the little things that make life better.
Recently I received a letter from my grandma, and I realized that getting letters is truly one of life`s little pleasures. Although I speak to my parents and siblings via facetime every week, I can only communicate with my grandparents through old fashioned mail. This might sound like a hassle, but I really enjoy it.
I think going through your mail and finding a letter from home among all the useless advertisments and bills is one of the best feelings in life. Everytime I see the enveolope with my grandmother`s handwriting on it I practically jump for joy. Hearing about my grandparents everyday life in their small dusty west Texas town is very comforting.
Writing a letter back is also really nice. When writing a letter you have time to compose your thoughts and say everything that`s on your mind. I also really enjoy picking out the perfect stationary or card to write on, and I try to send one every season or holiday. I love how sending handwritten notes or letters is so much more personal than text message or email.
So, how about you? Do you enjoy doing anything the old fashioned way?
