St. David's Dayって聞いた事はありますか(^^)?
You have all heard of St. Patricks Day, but did you know that Wales also has a similar day of celebration? On 1st March, Wales celebrates St. David`s Day or Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant in welsh. On St. David`s Day, young school children dress up in traditional Welsh clothing. Girls wear a black hat, which looks a little bit like a top hat, a shawl, a small apron, and a skirt. Boys tend to wear a flat cap, a shirt and waistcoat, and trousers tucked into their socks. Some schools hold St. David`s Day concerts where the children showcase welsh folk dancing, sing welsh folk songs or recite welsh poetry. Most adults don`t partake in such activities, but they will wear daffodils or leeks, two of Wales` National emblems. In Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, a music concert is usually held in St. Davids Hall. It is a day to celebrate the small, but proud, country of Wales. Happy St. David`s Day everyone! Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant hapus I bawb!
