Halloween in America②
Hello everyone. It's Josh again!
Last time I told you about one of my favorite holidays, Halloween. I told you about what it is like for children during Halloween. This time, I want to tell you about what adults do during Halloween.
One of the most important parts of Halloween is that there is no wrong way to do Halloween as an adult. If you want to decorate your house and spend your night giving candy out to children, you can do that. If you want to have a costume party with your friends, then that is also okay. Most importantly, if you want to do nothing at all, that is also fine. Halloween is a holiday with no obligations. You don't have to spend time with your family and you don't have to make food for everyone.
Most people, though, choose to do something Older people tend to make a simple outfit and give candy to children, sometimes taking pictures, or otherwise just enjoying seeing cute children in interesting costumes. Younger people often will have a party. Younger people will either make their own costumes or simply buy one from the store. They will enjoy a night of drinking, playing games, and giving out candy to any children who come by. As it is a fall holiday, drinking apple cider and eating pumpkin pie is often an important part of these parties.
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays of the year because you can do almost anything you want. It's extremely fun. I hope that you can enjoy Halloween in Japan as well!
