クリスマスに関する表現をご紹介します。

"the more the merrier" = 人数が多ければ多いほうが楽しい

e.g: A: Is it ok to bring one of my friend to that party?
B: Sure! The more the merrier.

"go cold turkey" = 悪い習慣を断つ

e.g: I went cold turkey and quik drinking.

"like turkeys voting for christmast" = 自分の首を絞める
e.g: I wouldn't do it. It's like turkeys voting for christmas.

"be there with bells on" = 喜んで～に出席する
e.g: A: Will you come to my school play on Sunday?
B: Of course. I will be there with bells on!

"to beat the holday blues" = 休暇後の憂鬱を晴らす
e.g: Knowing that I have to get back to work tomorrow, I really need to beat the holiday blues.
