Christmas Eve

Hello Everybody!

Now it`s December, and during this month many American like to celebrate Christmas. For the whole month of December we listen to Christmas music, watch Christmas movies, and get ready for Christmas Day. On Christmas day we open our presents from Santa, spend time with our family, and have a big Christmas dinner.

Christmas Day is really fun and is an important holiday for us, but Christmas Eve, which is the day before Christmas, is also a really important holiday.

On Christmas Eve we do many activities to get ready for Christmas day, and it`s a lot of fun. Today I`d like to share my family`s Christmas Eve traditions

A Christmas Story

There are many great Christmas movies, but on Christmas Eve my family always watches A Christmas Story. A Christmas Story is a movie about a boy named Ralphie who wants a Red Rider BB Gun for Christmas. Throughout the movie Ralphie tries to get his parents and teachers to let him have the BB Gun, but they so no way! It`s a really funny and sweet movie, so I definitely recommend it!

Reading the Night before Christmas

Every year on Christmas Eve we read the Night before Christmas before going to bed. It`s a very famous poem and always makes us feel happy and gets us excited for Christmas morning.

Reindeer Food and Santa`s cookies:

On Christmas eve Santa and his reindeer fly around the world delivering presents to all the good boys and girls. Santa has to visit millions of houses, and he gets hungry flying all over the place. To help him, we leave out a plate of cookies and glass of milk. It doesn`t matter if they`re chocolate chip, sugar, gingerbread, or chocolate, Santa loves all cookies!

Santa`s Reindeer have to pull Santa`s sleigh and fly around the world, so they get really tired and hungry too. Reindeer can`t eat cookies, so as a snack you can make them Reindeer Food. Reindeer Food is super easy to make, just mix together oats and sprinkles, then throw it out in your yard for the Reindeer to munch on while Santa is delivering the presents. If you don`t have Oats, Santa`s Reindeer can also eat rice!

These are my family`s traditions for Christmas Eve! I love to celebrate Christmas with my family, it`s so fun!!

How about you, what do you like to do with your family to celebrate New Years or Christmas? Do you like to eat food, watch Tv, or go somewhere special? Whatever you do, please feel free to share your traditions with me! Let`s celebrate the holiday season together!
