My Nan and Grandad
Hello everyone! This is Steven here sharing memories of my grandparents with you all.
I grew up in Birmingham, England, which is in the centre of the country, though some people call it the heart of the nation!
I always use Nan & Grandad to refer to my grandparents, maybe it is only a Birmingham tradition or just our family, but this is how I've always referred to them. Saying "Grandma" or "Grandpa" sounds really strange to me! Maybe this is more of an American English term.
My favourite memories I have are throughout my childhood. We were very close, I remember eating biscuits, learning how to make a cup of tea (very important!), playing with my cousins in the garden, and spending many Saturday afternoons lazing around their small house with lots of my family.
I have many cousins and relatives in my family and my Nan & Grandad's house was the main headquarters and it has kept us in touch over the years. As we grow older, naturally people drift apart but there is always a strong bond at this house thanks to my Nan & Grandad. I love them very much!
I miss them a lot and can't wait to see them again soon!
