本日は、Oscar先生がカナダの祝日について
ブログを書いてくれました(*'▽')

In February, my province Ontario, has
a special holiday called Family Day,
on the third Monday.

It is a public holiday that was recently
introduced (10 years ago) and the purpose
was to add an extra holiday for the month
of February. On that day, schools and some
businesses are closed, while other venues
such as museums, skating rinks and even
restaurants offer special deals for
families.

Since February is very cold,
a lot of the events and activities are
usually held indoors.

On that day, my family and I usually stay
indoors. Sometimes we might have a potluck
with our relatives and have a small party.
Like Japan, Canada has national holidays
but we also have public holidays that are
unique to each province.

For example,
we celebrate Family Day in Ontario,
British Colombia and Alberta etc.
but the province of Quebec does not
celebrate it.
