A few weeks ago

I went to Sapporo

with a few friends.

It was my first time

in Hokkaido

and I was worried about

the -12 temperatures!

Once we arrived

I realised that the temperature

did not feel as bad as

I thought it would.

My friends are foodies,

so our first stop of the trip

was trying soup curry,

it was delicious.

That evening we found

a road with lots of ice

sculptures and

it was amazing to

see the designs.

The following day

we went to

the snow festival itself.

We walked around

the park watching

the musical acts,

looking at the giant

snow sculptures.

We tried some of the food

available at the food stalls,

which were great!

We all took lots of

pictures and

had a lot of fun.

My favourite part was

the ski performance,

where skiers did flips off

a huge ski jump.

Then we went to a restaurant

where I tried genghis kahn,

which was better than I expected.

On the final day,

I went to various

sightseeing spots

around Sapporo.

We also went to the first

miso ramen shop

which was a great end to the trip.
