イギリスでの年越しは家族で

お祝いする習慣がないそうで、

小さい頃は特に何もしなかったそうです！

大人になって、

友達と過ごすようになったんだとか(#^^#)

Hello,

I'm Becky and I'm from the UK.

New Year in the UK

is very different to New Year in Japan.

Growing up,

my family didn't celebrate New Year

and there are many other families like this.

However,

when I was a bit older,

I started spending

New Year with my friends.

Usually,

one of my friends would

have a big party at their house.

We would drink a lot

and have fun playing party games.

At midnight many people

go out onto the street.

They all count down together

and at midnight couples will kiss.

Then we would wish

all our friends a Happy New Year.

Some people will also sing

old lang syne

but I don't know the words.

I really enjoyed spending New Years

with my friends

and I think it's the best way

to spend the holiday.
