Useful Travel English
For those of you traveling to a different country, here are some useful phrases to help you out!
For directions:
"I would like to go to (Place). By chance, do you know how to get there?"
"Would like" is a more polite way to say "want."
"By chance" is a really good way to make your question a little softer!
Requests/Asking for a favor:
"Could you speak a little slower?"
"Could you tell me where the restroom is?"
"Could you" is a little more polite than "Can you," so let's try using it!
