It's that time of year again, when the temperature and humidity rises and my desire to go anywhere without air conditioning falls. During this short but 'terrible' time I would like to recommend some good phrases to better describe the hot weather that might annoy you! So let's look at some really good words or phrases to describe this oppressive heat and humidity!

Oppressive heat - overwhelming heat, heat that keeps you feeling down
Muggy - humid and hot
Example: Today is so muggy, I'm going to go to Yodobashi Camera and stand in the air conditioning section for an hour.
Sweltering - very hot and usually humid
Example: It's sweltering; I'm going to go swimming in Toyohira River!
Scorching - very very hot
Example: It is scorching today! I should move to Siberia.
A scorcher - a very very hot day
Example: It sure is a scorcher today. I'm going to eat 20 popsicles.

Those are few good examples of vocabulary and idioms we use to talk about really hot and uncomfortable weather. Try to use them next time you can, but I hope it cools down soon so you won't have too! Thank you for reading and stay cool! (●_●)
