Hello.
This is Brendan. How are you?
The more I learn Japanese the more interesting phrases I learn.
Today I want to talk about some of my favorite Japanese phrases that I've learned.
The first two phrases are "いただきます" and "ごちそうさまでした".
I like these phrases because we don't have expressions like these in English.
So for me it's a new way to express my feelings.
It also helps me communicate my gratitude to workers at a restaurant.
I can't say many words but I can still thank them for their amazing food!
Another phrase I like is "お疲れ様でした".
This is another expression we don't have in English.
It helps me show gratitude to my co-workers at the end of the day.
In the United States when we leave work we just say "Have a good night" or "See you tomorrow".
We don't say thank you to our co-workers unless they do something special.
Finally I recently learned two slang words I want to try using.
"めっちゃ" and "マジ are really fun to say and I can use them to express strong emotion in a casual way.
If I want to be polite I can say "本当においしいです".
But in a casual situation maybe I can say
"めっちゃうまい!!".
I hope I'm using these right!
I want to learn even more fun Japanese expressions that I can use every day!
Let's try our best to learn a new language together!
