日本と外国ではちょっと違う!バレンタインデーの習慣とは?★

今日はValentine's Day
(バレンタインデー)ですね!
日本と外国では
少しだけ習慣が違うのを
ご存知でしたか?(#^^#)
今日はRicky先生が
アメリカのバレンタインについて
教えてくれました!
日本では、女性が
男性にチョコを贈るのが
一般的ですが、
外国では男性も
チョコや花束などの
プレゼントを用意するそうです♪
日本も「逆チョコ」や
「友チョコ」が流行っていますが、
外国ではいわゆる「義理チョコ」の
概念はあまりないそうです
特別な人にだけに贈る
特別なイベントのようですよ♪
今年は少し外国の文化を
取り入れてみるのも
いいかもしれませんね(#^^#)!

Today I will be talking
about Valentine's Day.
So in America,
Valentine's day is a little
bit different from
how it is in Japan.
In America,
both girls and boys
give presents
to each other in
a relationship.
Normally,
the boy will ask
the girl to be his Valentine,
but it is okay for
the girl to ask the guy.
This is a holiday
mainly meant for couples.
So you don't have to
bring gifts for
your co-workers.
While it might be appreciated,
it is not expected
or at all needed.
Instead,
focus on giving something
to your significant
other/partner.
It is normally
a very popular date night,
so you need to
make reservations early.
Typical gifts include
sweets, flowers,
and stuffed animals.
Gifts are not limited
to this though.
Getting creative with
what you know about
the other can really make
your partner happy.
It also can be a very
popular day for
proposals to be made.
So those are some of the
fun facts about
Valentine's day in America.
