今日はBecky先生に、

「日本で驚いたこと」を

聞いてみました！(#^^#)

なんと「プラスチックの使用量」に

驚いたそうです！

日本ではお菓子など、

なんでも個包装されていますよね

最近は日本もプラスチック削減に向けて

様々な取り組みが行われていますが、

海外と比べると、

まだまだ使用量は多いようですね！

I have been living in Japan

for more than a year.

However, something that still shocks me

is the use of plastic.

Japan uses so much plastic,

compared to the UK.

Firstly, whenever I go to most shops

I always get a bag,

unless I say I don't want one.

In the UK,

plastic bags cost money,

so everyone brings an eco-bag.

I was also shocked at

how many things are

individually packaged.

From fruit, to cookies!

In the UK,

snacks and cookies are never

individually packaged.

Fruit is also never individually

packaged, unless its pre-sliced.

I was amazed at

how much plastic waste there

is from just one bag of cookies.

I know that Japan is making

steps to reduce their plastic waste.

But it is still shocking to me,

since the UK has been trying

to reduce waste for the past 10 years.
