この時期アメリカでは

とても有名な祝日がありますね！

その名も「Thanksgiving day(感謝祭)」！

毎年11月の最後の木曜日に開催されるので、

今年は28日になります(^-^)

今日はBrendan先生流、

感謝祭の過ごし方をご紹介します★

There are many traditions that happen

at Thanksgiving in America.

こんにちは　ブレンダンです

アメリカの感謝祭では、

たくさんの伝統があります

The most famous tradition is

to eat a big turkey dinner

with your family!

1番有名な伝統は、

家族と大きい七面鳥を食べることです！

That's why some people call

Thanksgiving "Turkey Day".

だから人々は感謝祭を

「七面鳥の日」と呼ぶんですね

Families also prepare many side dishes

and desserts like mashed potatoes,

corn, sweet potatoes, and Pumpkin Pie!

また、マッシュポテトやコーンなどの

いろいろなサイドメニューや

スイートポテト、パンプキンパイなどの

デザートを用意します

We call it "Thanksgiving"

because we are supposed to feel

thankful for everything we have.

私たちがもつ全てのものに感謝する日なので、

感謝祭と呼んでいます

Before we eat Thanksgiving Dinner

many families watch a big parade on TV!

感謝祭の夕食を食べる前に、

たくさんの家族がテレビで大きなパレードを観ます！

It's popular because there are many

large balloons shaped like popular characters.

有名なキャラクターの形をした、

大きなバルーンがたくさんあって

有名なパレードです

The last person in the parade is

Santa Claus to remind people

that Christmas is coming!

パレードの最後はサンタクロースが

もうすぐクリスマスが来ることを

知らせてくれます

Another big tradition on Thanksgiving

is watching American Football on TV.

もうひとつの感謝祭の大きな伝統は、

テレビでアメフトを観ることです

There are usually four games on

so you can watch it all day!

通常4つの試合があるので、

1日中試合を観ていられますよ！

Finally after Thanksgiving

we have a day called "Black Friday".

感謝祭の次の日に、

ブラックフライデーと呼ばれる1日があります

It sounds scary

but it's actually the biggest

shopping day all year.

怖そうな響きですが、

実は1年で1番大きいショッピングデーなんです

Almost all of the stores open really early

and have really big sales!

ほぼすべてのお店が本当に早く開店して、

ビッグセールを開催します

Some people wait in line for hours

so they can buy alot of things.

何人かは4時間並んで開店を待ちます

だからたくさん買うことができるんですね

It's a popular time to buy Christmas gifts,

but it can be crowded so be careful!

クリスマスのプレゼントを買うときなので、

とても混んでいるので気を付けて！
