Hello and Happy New Year, everyone! It's Kenn here, writing my first AEON blog post of 2020.

I hope you could all have a refreshing and exciting winter vacation because I certainly did. I took an enormous trip with my brother all around the Chubu area. We visited many places and experienced many things, but the whole plan for this trip stemmed from one idea at the beginning: snowboarding.

Before this trip, I had never done skiing or snowboarding ever in my life. My brother, on the other hand, had done it a few years ago when he went to New Zealand. From that time, he had continuously recommended I try it and so this year, I finally bit the bullet and set up a big vacation plan which included snowboarding as a part of it.

We decided to go to Niigata prefecture because there are ski resorts there which are easy to access. On my first day, I had such a hard time even learning the basics, and you can even see in the picture how frustrated I was getting. I fell down so many times that I started expecting it. I kept trying my best though, and by the end of the day, I was able to move around steadily and balance well. Even though the weather conditions were not so great while we there, we could make the most of our time and I discovered that I really enjoy snowboarding. It's definitely something I would do again in the future.

So yeah, I had an unbelievably good time this winter vacation where I learned a lot and challenged myself. I would love to hear about things that you all have done over the break too!
