Thank you to my Grandparents!
Hello everyone! It's Laurel again, and today I would like to share some memories of my grandparents. They are both from Kentucky, just like me! They're from an even smaller town, though, which might be a little surprising for some people--but small towns are very common in Kentucky.
When I was very young, my cousins and I spent a lot of time with our grandparents. Our grandmother--Anna, although we called her Fran; my oldest cousin couldn't say granny as a small child, so Fran just stuck!--often took us to get pizza together when we stayed at her home. She lived out in the country, so it was a little bit of a long drive to get to the restaurant, but it was still a good trip. When we got back to her home, she would let us pick movies to watch; each visit, we took turns picking movies. It was very fun, and I am always happy when I remember those times.
My grandfather--George, just like my father!--would take us on some weekends as well! One time, he took us fishing! It was a lot of fun, but I was very young, so I was scared of the fish. I caught one, but I was too scared to be excited. On normal weekends with him, though, my cousins and I would play around the house and would also play video games. We grew up in the early 1990s, so we played games on the Nintendo and Super Nintendo. It was a lot of fun, and my family has lots of pictures of those times.
My grandparents have always been very important and I appreciate them very much for helping my dad and my aunt and uncle as much as they could when my cousins and I were young. We were often very rowdy, but my grandparents were always very patient! I hope you have good memories of your grandparents, too!
Thank you for reading! See you next time!
