Three components of speaking and listening that CNN Ondoku will help to improve are vocabulary, pronunciation
and intonation.

Vocabulary is useful in both speaking and listening. Even if a person cannot use all the words as a speaker, the
knowledge of these words allows the speaker to recognize the words as a listener.
Vocabulary recognition is incredibly valuable.The topics covered in CNN Ondoku vary greatly and each topic introduces useful vocabulary related to topics
such as business, science, politics, sports, entertainment and many more .Knowledge of these words will give you the
skills necessary to participate in conversations about many interesting topics.

Pronunciation, in both speaking clearly and understanding the different pronunciations of others, is also an important
component ofsuccessful communication. The articles in CNN ONdoku are read by speakers from all over the world including
The U.S., U.K., and Australia to name a few. In class we spend time listening to these speakers and practicing using the words
ourselves.

Intonation is often overlooked, but it can be just as important as any other language skill in advanced communication.
Succesfully utilizing sound rules is often one of the key differences betweeen good and great speakers, and the knowledge
of these rules creates the ability to recognize them as a listener when they are being used by others, which is frequently
the difference between understanding and misunderstanding.

Vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation are necessary components speaking and listening. CNN Ondoku provides an
