「洋服」に関する英語TIP

今日は、Olie先生が「洋服」に関する英語Tipを
教えてくれました(*´▽`*)
Have you ever noticed that we don't say "clothe" as a noun?
The reason is that the word "clothes" is always plural.
It is never used to count one item.
Now you might be thinking
"So how do you say 'your dress is a nice clothe'?"
The answer is: you can't.
You can say "your dress is a nice item of clothing"
since this qualifying phrase is used specifically
for counting clothes: "I bought four items of clothing today".
So when and why do we use the word "clothes"?
We use the word "clothes" to talk in general about the things people wear.
"You have such nice clothes"
"These clothes will last a long time."
"How many clothes did you bring?
