今週は4連休という方も多いのではないでしょうか？

いかがお過ごしでしたでしょうか(*'▽')

祝日続きだったということもあり、

James先生が日本の祝日に対して感じたことを

教えてくれました♪

I think it's really nice that each
National Holiday in Japan has
a special significance.

Of course in my country, the UK,
some holidays have some meaning,
for example Christmas and Easter.
But a lot of them have no particular
significance.

Living in big city like Tokyo,
we are out of touch with nature.
So, Mountain Day and Ocean Day
are pretty cool reasons to have a holiday,
I think.

Britain and Japan are both island nations,
and I think both countries have a strong
connection to the sea.

Perhaps Britain should have
an Ocean Day too. When I was a child,
I often went to the beach with my family.
Most people outside the UK don't think
that the UK has nice beaches,
but actually there is a lot of beautiful
coastline. So, when the sun shines
a lot of people head to the beach.　

Fish and chips is our national
dish. Also, British people are also
pretty good at sailing
(not including me; I get sea sick!).
Maybe I should start a campaign
to bring Ocean day to the UK.
