今日はMatt先生が季節に関するスモールトークで
役立つ英会話フレーズをいくつかご紹介します★
ぜひ、レッスンの前後で先生と英語で会話するときにも
使ってみて下さい(*^^*)
Using rhetorical questions when talking
about the weather.
Talking about the weather is one of the most
common topics for small talk, and sound
natural to use rhetorical questions when
talking about the weather.
These are questions that don't require
an answer. It's just a conversational
way to make a statement.
When using rhetorical questions
when talking about the weather,
it' usually to express dissatisfaction.
"Did you look out the window?
It's snowing!! It's snowing right now.
This fact surprises me.
I think it will surprise you too.
"Is Winter ever going to end?"
usually said in late winter:
It has been cold for a long time now.
I want warmer weather.
"When is the rainy season going
to be over?"
Usually said at the end of
rainy season.
It has been a long rainy season.
I want rainy season to end.
"Is it hot enough for you?"
It's hot right now.
I hope these expressions are helpful!
Please enjoy talking about the weather!
Even if it's raining!!
