We're back with another edition of YouTube Corner! In this blog, I'll introduce the channel for Tom Scott, a linguist and web developer from Britain. Tom is very famous throughout the English-speaking Internet for his educational YouTube videos on a variety of topics, including technology, science, history, and linguistics.

There are several series of videos that Tom uploads. "Amazing Places," as the name implies, talks about different exceptional places around the world, from the world's largest echo chamber to a museum dedicated to failed creations. "Things You Might Not Know," also as the name implies, is about interesting facts that most people are unaware of, like what technically counts as a river or why you can't buy Dasani in Britain.

"The Basics" is another series that tries to explain complicated programming problems in terms that most people can understand, like different sorting algorithms or The Two Generals' problem. "Built For Science" introduces new technology and interesting inventions, like 3D color X-Ray machines or how Zero-G airplanes work. And there's also an unnamed series on different linguistic concepts, like gender neutral pronouns and why computers can't understand language like humans can.

Tom's videos are usually around five minutes long, and he publishes a new video roughly once a week. All of his videos also come with subtitles, so they're perfect for listening practice; you can listen to the speech first and then check the subtitles to see if you got it right. And Tom has a British accent, so that's always nice. By watching this channel you're sure to learn some interesting things while also improving your English!
