In this edition of YouTube Corner, I will be presenting the channel Film Courage. Film Courage uploads excerpts from interviews with screenwriters and directors. A "screenwriter" is a specific type of writer who writes movie scripts. Therefore, the content of the interviews may be of special interest to people who love movies.

I originally found Film Courage when I was working on a script for a short film. I wanted to find inspiration and advice from others who actually knew what they were doing. Unfortunately our short film never actually got made, but I learned a lot from this channel and it made me a better moviegoer. Knowing more about what makes a good character, or a good character arc, or the difference between story and plot, are all useful tools when analyzing the movies you watch.

Sometimes the channel will upload full interviews or special longer form content, but most of their videos are less than 10 minutes long. This makes it easy to watch a video even when you only have a short break. The speakers come from a wide variety of backgrounds and have different accents, which makes for good listening practice. And since the content of the videos are all about the same topic, any new words you learn will be reinforced by all of the other videos, making them easier to remember.

The channel has over 4,400 videos uploaded, and publishes a new one every day. Many videos also have subtitles provided, so you can double check what is being said if it's difficult to catch. I encourage you to check out this channel even if you're not very interested in film. You're sure to learn something new while improving your English ability!
